Summer Camp 2013

Amateur Scientist

ScienceUtsav is organizing an Innovative Science Summer Camp to kindle the Scientific Temper, Logical Thinking  and Reasoning Skills among kids of age 07yrs to 14yrs.

Summer Camp activities are meticulously designed based on the continuous research on curriculum of the specified age group. However, the activities are planned such a way that they are optimally challenging and increase the cognition of scientific concepts in the kids.

Each session include one major experiments followed by Games, Puzzles and Skits!!

All materials will be provided which include: Science Kits for more than 10 activities, Tool Kit, Bag, Workbooks and safety gear (where necessary).

Duration of Summer Camp: 2 Weeks (Excluding Weekends)

Robotics

Basics of Electronics and Robotics (A):

This whole program shall be divided in to two parts of training on five week days starting from Monday to Friday. Each day class shall be for a period of 2hrs and total 20 hrs of training shall be there for each of the technology basics of electronics and robotics using LEGO NXT. Under first technology kids shall explore the basic electronics components like capacitors, registers, LEDs, Diodes, IC’s, electrons, Voltage, current etc through hands on workshop by using all these components on bred board. Every participant will get a take away kit for electronics at the end of the program through which they can perform around 50 experiments at home also. Under second technology robotics, kids will make use of NXT kit from LEGO and shall make 5 different kinds of robotics models. They will understand the use of motors, sensors, robotics arm, axel, gears and micro controller. Through these workshops they will get the initial idea of actually what a robot is in reality and how we can design and make our own robot depending upon the application. both of these shall be practical training only with hands on experience on how to make a robot and how to make a circuit.

Aero Modelling

This whole program shall also be divided in to two parts of training on five week days starting from Monday to Friday. Each day class shall be for a period of 2hrs and total 20 hrs of training shall be there for each of the technology basics of electro mechanics and aero modeling. Under first technology kids shall explore the electro mechanics kit (Letry robot) that is a basic robotics kit and kids will learn the concept of mechanical and electronics engineering by using DC motor, axel and wheels concept, sensors and relay circuits on bred board etc. Every participant shall do 15 experiments on this kit.

Second technology shall be aero modeling through which kids will understand the concept of aerodynamics and also construction design and fly of the model aircrafts .Under this section they will make two models, static F16 model and rubber powered model “Chipmunk”. Kids will get two take away kits under this program.

Duration:  All the three summer camps are 2 to 2.5 hrs a Day.
